Replaced Orangery Roof
Since having had an orangery added onto her house, our client had been experiencing issues with the quality of the roof.
Frustrated with her original builders, Mrs Maddison called us in to resolve the problem. After rain, water pooled on the flat surface of the extension, rendering unusable what was supposed to be a walkable area accessed by French windows. Furthermore, water was finding its way into her home through a poorly sealed skylight above her kitchen.
To ensure water drained properly, and to prevent water ponding, we fitted a ‘furing’ piece to create an adequate fall. An inspection of the roof highlighted that ordinary felt – not recommended for walking on - had been used, so we laid a new ply sheet and a mechanically fixed Renolit membrane for reliable, long-lasting weatherproofing. Finally, we fitted our rubber tile system on top of the new membrane to make the surface fully walkable, and give our client the usable sun terrace they wanted.
What our client says:
“Rooftek Advance were most helpful in advising on replacing a badly made orangery roof at my home. The previous builders had left a roof that held water and looked unsightly. I would happily recommend Rooftek Advance as they provided an excellent service and a new roof that looks stunning.”
